Ben Payton is back Friday night! |
Ben Payton was born in Coila, Mississippi. His early musical
influences included his grandmother Mabel Johnson's gospel
piano playing and his Uncle Joe Birch's blues guitar.
In his mid-teens they moved to Chicago, where Ben soon
became active in the Blues scene and backed many prominent
artists while also performing as the house band at local
clubs.
Ben also played in the R&B band "The Oops" and the band
"Womb From the Tomb".
In the summer of 2006 Ben performed at the Chicago Blues
Festival. He performs regularly in Jackson, Oxford,
Greenwood, and Clarksdale, both solo and as a duet with
percussionist Cyndi Clark.

Band Saturday night! |
 The
Cowboy Blues Band has an eclectic style of music that is a mix
of country, rock and of course the blues. The band has landed
gigs at several major local events and has become a crowd
pleasing favorite.
They began playing as a group in December of 2005, but
music was a major part of the band members' lives long before
the start of the Cowboy Blues Band.
Each person brings his or her own style, favorite songs and
genre to the group, making it a unique blend of style
favorites such as rhythm and blues, rock and country.
The Cowboy Blues Band is Jessie "Bluesman" Howell - Lead
Vocals, Tim "The Cowboy" White -Vocals and Lead Guitar, J.C.
" Uncle Howard" Dickens - Bass Guitar and Vocals, Lori Dickens
- Keyboards, Synthesizers, and Strings, Johnny Glover - Drums
and Brad "B.M." Miller- Rhythm, Lead, and Slide Guitars.
