| Rhythm & Rain perform at WCG at 5 pm |
Music, Art, Refreshments set the stage
Join us Saturday afternoon beginning at 5 p.m. for Hattiesburg's annual
Fall Art Walk. The event will launch a round of seasonal activities in
downtown shops and galleries.
The main hours for the walk will be from 5 to 9 p.m., but don’t wait! Start the fun at the shops and galleries that open earlier that day and get a jump on the special fall merchandise and activities. Downtown restaurants offer plenty of choices for lunch and dinner and those who like can party on into the wee hours at the night spots. The day will be filled with art, music and refreshments as artists show their work and restaurants and shops host live entertainment. Walnut Circle Grill will host The Rhythm and Rain Trio, an island trop/rock band from the Coast at 5 p.m. At 8 p.m., the Deltamatics take the stage. Art Walk is presented three times a year as a collaborative effort involving organizations such as HHDA, Hattiesburg Arts Council, The University of Southern Mississippi, William Carey College, South Mississippi Art Association and the City of Hattiesburg. Art Walk is for everyone – families, singles, seniors and retirees, students of all ages and visitors. Events still to come this season include Holiday Shopping in Historic Downtown, Nov. 9 – 11, and Holiday Art Walk on Dec. 9. |

| Tree Logic |
Johnny Hozey, Jamie Jimenez, and Cody Ruth met as hired hands on a jazz
gig in Hattiesburg MS in October of 2004. From there the three decided
to develop a project. In September of 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated
the Gulf Coast. With most of the venues that hosted Tree Logic
destroyed, the band began to play more in Baton Rouge, LA. However,
venues were not the only things affected by the Hurricane; Johnny's home
was completely destroyed.
The band began to travel regionally playing their own mix of jazz hits, classic rock, funk and jazz fusion. As their name became more popular, the band decided to expand their repertoire to include originals written the band. When Ryan Patterson was added on guitar to replace Steve Helwick who had left the area, the band picked up where they left off, expanding their repertoire even more than before, and developing a much broader and diverse fan base than ever. In the two years the band has been together, they have grown tight as a group and have received praise and respect from avid music critics and musicians alike. The band's fan base continues to grow as they witness the high energy and nonstop great music from Tree Logic. |
