Live After Five returns
to Historic Downtown Hattiesburg for the month of October!
Live After Five is held at the Town Square Park at the corner of
Main and Buschman.
Each Fri. during October 5 - 8 p.m.
Live music, great food and fun for the entire family.
Concerts are free and open to the public, bring your lawn chair
and enjoy the music.

Oct. 10, T-Bone Pruit has charmed and entertained
generations of fans here in South Mississippi, his style of down
home blues makes him a Hattiesburg favorite.
Oct 17, Washboard Chaz, acoustic blues sound with a bit
of New Orleans flavor thrown in brings new life to classic blues
favorites.
Oct 24, New Orleans Klezmer Allstars have their own
version of Jewish folk music fused with other styles - different
rock and jazz sounds, bluegrass, even surf music and avant
interpretations.
Oct. 31, Lloyd 'Hurricane' Munn, known for his Buffett to
Blues range of tunes, will play all your favorites for a fun
sing-along and dancing.

Downtown Hattiesburg this Saturday! |
Free Downtown Shuttle Service is
being offered Sat. Oct. 4, and during all USM home games.
Travel to and from the downtown area throughout the entire
game. Shuttle will continue to run late in the evening as well.
Catch the shuttle within the Historic Downtown Area at any of
the sponsor locations and at The District on campus. Enjoy
dining in one of our great restaurants before or after the game
without loosing your parking spot.

Elise and Green Company perform Friday
night! |
Elise and Green Company is headlined by acoustic
artist Elise Thornton.
She has performed around Mississippi, Louisiana and
Alabama for the past five years, starting with a band in
Bogalusa, LA called "So I Thought".
Later, while attending USM in Hattiesburg, she began
performing with Karen Waldrop, another local
singer/songwriter, as "Shades of Green".
The duo performed over 250 gigs and sold over 1000 cds that
year. Of late, Thornton is currently performing with Eric
Rodgers, lead singer and guitarist for "Southland" and
also Sam Donald, lead guitarist and backup vocalist for
"Waiting for Brantley".

Blue performs Saturday night! |
The
famous Mississippi and Louisiana Blues Band, Big Daddy Blue
and the Red Hots, will perform Saturday night in
the courtyard.
According to Mike Chambliss, Big Daddy Blue, "our sound has
morphed from a traditional blues sound to a more modern
approach that has been compared to Jimmy Thackery, Smokin' Joe
Kubek, and Tinsley Ellis.
"Our song list continues to change, as we incorporate elements
of southern R&B, swamp boogie, and even exposing our country
roots on occasion.We play music that appeals to a wide range
of audiences in very diverse places, from swanky restaurants
to biker bars and everything in between!
