Dustin Messina is a 19 year old guitar player/singer- songwriter from
Jackson, MS. He started playing in the local blues clubs at age 13 and
hasn't stopped since. Dustin has played with the famed guitar player
Jeff Healey and has opened for the legendary B.B. King. He also shares
the same birthday as two of his biggest influenes Stevie Ray Vaughan and
Keb' Mo (October 3rd). Just recently signed with the Indie record label
Grace Productions Group, Dustin's self- titled album was released
September 6th. It is available in local stores and is also available on
cdbaby.com and amazon.com.
Dustin performs Saturday night accompanied by his dad, Joe Messina on vocals and guitar. Dustin and Joe perform often in the Jackson area and are welcomed by fans across the state. |

December is loaded with holiday activities, The Mayor’s 5th Annual Tree
Lighting will be held at 5:30 p.m. tonight in Town Square Park,
downtown, hosted by Mayor and Mrs. Johnny DuPree. Hot cider and cocoa
will be served. USM's Symphony will present 'Holidays on Broadway'
Friday night at the Saenger at 7:30 pm.
Hattiesburg will enjoy three versions of the famous "Nutcracker" this month! Pine Belt Youth Ballet will perform the traditional Christmas ballet at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville. The visiting Moscow Ballet will present its "Great Russian Nutcracker" at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Saenger Theater in downtown Hattiesburg. In addition to the ballets, the University of Southern Mississippi Symphony will present "The Nut-Cracker," at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16 and 11 a.m. Dec. 17 in the Mannoni Performing Arts Center on the Southern Miss campus. The Hattiesburg Kiwanis Club will also hold a Holiday Pancake Breakfast, and that sounds delicious...especially on a cold morning! The Hattiesburg Jaycees annual Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Hattiesburg on Saturday, December 3 at 4:30 p.m. Entry line-up will begin at 3:00 p.m. The theme for this year is "It's a Charlie Brown Christmas". The USM History Department will present its "Roots Reunion Live Broadcast" Saturday night at 7 pm at the Saenger Theater, and it's free. There's no excuse to not get out and enjoy the festivities, and when you do, stop by and see us for a hot or cold beverage or a great meal! |

The William Carey College Theatre Department and the Winters School of
Music will present the Ye Olde Madrigal Dinner, December 6 and 8 through
11 in the O. L. Quave Theatre on the Hattiesburg campus. Performances
are Dec. 6, 8, 9 and 10 at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 12:30 p.m. The
Meistersingers will present a 'Meistersingers Christmas' at 8 pm on
Friday, December 9 at the Saenger Theater.
The Historic Hattiesburg Downtown Association 'Holiday Art Walk' will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Saturday, December 10 in Downtown Hattiesburg. The Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association will hold it's Annual Victorian Candlelit Christmas on Saturday and Sunday, December 10 and 11, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The Church of the Nazarene offers 'Trees of Christmas' on Friday and Saturday, December 9 and 10, and the Hattiesburg Library will hold a Holiday Family Film Festival on Saturday, December 10! |
