Kaiso steams up the Courtyard with Island Rhythms
It's time to welcome back students and faculty to USM, Jones, PRC and
William Carey! Come out and enjoy some great sounds under the stars
tonight and join us in our 'welcome-back' weekend festivities!
KAISO! performs instrumental sets for your listening pleasures and vocal sets that will have everyone dancing and jumping to the hottest Caribbean music in the south. John Wooton is Director of Percussion Studies at USM. The band's debut cd is available through any of the band members, their website (linked at pic), USM book store, and Millennium Music. The line up is: John Wooton - Steel Pans; Darrell Havard - Chapman Stick; Jeff Mills - Drums. |

Justin Patterson and the Lost Causes ride again
Justin Patterson is a new breed of songwriter who has performed his
unique brand of country music across the state. His band performs
original music as well as covers by artists such as George Strait,
Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Alabama, Pat Green and many more.
His new cd, Debut, released on independent Cowboy Cool Records, was co-produced by Chris Hudson at Route 1 Recording in Monticello and features fellow Hattiesburg musicians Cary Hudson and Ted Gainey, formerly of Blue Mountain and Elliott Crawford of Buffalo Nickel. The newest carnation of the band will perform Saturday night in the Courtyard. Band members are guitarist Ashton Burge, bassist Brian Carr and drumme Wesley Rowland. |
