The Empirical Sound Collction Friday night!! |
 The
Empirical Sound Collection presents the fresh sounds of young
jazz on Friday night. These guys are favorites of Mississippi
jazz audiences. The Clarion Ledger's WEEKEND entertainment
magazine has called them "four of the state's top musicians."
ESC has played top music venues and events around
the state, including Jubilee Jam, "Taste of Mississippi"
annual fundraiser for Stewpot Community Services, "Two
Rivers Gala" annual fundraiser for Tougaloo College,
"Jazz, Art, and Friends" monthly concert series at the
Mississippi Museum of Art, Miss. State Fair, Smith-Wills
Stadium, Wellsfest, Mistletoe Marketplace, Musiquarium,
Julep, Hal & Mal's, Soulshine, Walker's and Bon Ami fine
dining restaurants...just to name a few.ESC is
made up of Scott Johnson on sax,Russell Welch on guitar,
Darrian Douglas on drums and Nathaniel Henson on bass.

Big blues...Big Juv... Saturday
night! |
Big Juv is
led by Jackson blues man Virgil Brawley who is accompanied
by fellow blues star Byrd Lovell.
Virgil Brawley represented
Mississippi in the International Blues Competition in
Memphis TN. He has won the Mississippi single/duo Blues
Competition held in Vicksburg.
The duo performs regularly at some
of Jackson's hottest night spots, including Archestratus
Grill, Fenian's Pub, the Mardi Gras Jazz Bar and the Alumni
House. These seasoned performers know how to deliver the
blues, Mississippi style!
They released their 3rd CD, 'Mojo
Workin', in May. Visit them on myspace.com to hear
