Big Daddy Michael Blues performs Friday night!
Big Daddy Michael Blue                             The famous Mississippi and Louisiana Blues Band, Big Daddy Blue and the Red Hots, will perform Friday night in the courtyard.   According to Mike Chambliss, Big Daddy Blue, "our sound has morphed from a traditional blues sound to a more modern approach that has been compared to Jimmy Thackery, Smokin' Joe Kubek, and Tinsley Ellis.
"Our song list continues to change, as we incorporate elements of southern R&B, swamp boogie, and even exposing our country roots on occasion. We play music that appeals to a wide range of audiences in very diverse places, from swanky restaurants to biker bars and everything in between.

August entertainment poster  Enjoy Ben Payton Saturday night!
Big JuvBen Payton was born in Coila, Mississippi. His early musical influences included his grandmother Mabel Johnson's gospel piano playing and his Uncle Joe Birch's blues guitar.  In his mid-teens they moved to Chicago, where Ben soon became active in the city's blues scene and backed many prominent artists also working as the house band at local clubs. Ben also played in the R&B bands The Oops and  the band Womb From the Tomb.    In the summer of 2006 Ben performed at the Chicago Blues Festival.  He performs regularly in Jackson, Oxford, Greenwood, and Clarksdale, both solo and as a duet with percussionist Cyndi Clark.
